Six out of the last seven. Not bad.

Team USA is heading back from Switzerland right now with another gold medal; the Americans squad captured the 2015 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men’s World Championship yesterday with a 2-1 overtime victory over Finland.

The title marks the sixth in the last seven years for Team USA, which is primarily made up of the U.S. National Team Development Program’s Under-18 Team each year. It’s the ninth time the U.S. has captured the U18 World Championship, as well.

Colin White (Hanover, Mass.) scored the golden goal for the U.S. on Sunday, burying a one-timer on a pass from Jeremy Bracco (Freeport, N.Y.) 12:44 into overtime.

Jack Roslovic scored the Americans’ lone goal in regulation, tying the game at 11:19 of the third period.

Team USA – which featured Michigan natives Nick Boka (Plymouth) and Brendan Warren (Carleton) – posted an 8-1 record in the tournament (including two pre-tournament games), with their only loss coming against Russia in their first official game. The Americans responded with a 6-0 record thereafter, outscoring their competition 45-10.
