High school state quarterfinals begin today

At 6:30 p.m. tonight, the quarterfinals of the Michigan High School Athletic Association officially begin when the puck drops on a Livonia Stevenson vs. Novi game at Yost Ice Arena.

It’s the final week of the high school hockey season, and it’s going to be an exciting finish for the teams remaining in their respective divisions.

Here is a look at the quarterfinal matchups for all three divisions:

 

Division I

Traverse City West vs. Grandville – Wednesday, 7 p.m. – Ferris State

Jackson vs. Bay City Central – Wednesday, 6 p.m. – Perani Arena

U of D Jesuit vs. Salem – Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. – Yost

Detroit Catholic Central vs. Troy – Wednesday, 7 p.m. – Orchard Lake St. Mary’s

Division II

Brother Rice vs. Hartland – Tuesday, 6:45 p.m. – Troy Sports Center

Grosse Pointe South vs. Romeo – Tuesday, 7:40 p.m. – Suburban Ice Macomb

Traverse City Central vs. Escanaba – Tuesday, 7 p.m. – Otsego County Sportsplex

Novi vs. Livonia Stevenson – Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. – Yost

Division III

Sault Ste Marie vs. Houghton – Wednesday, 7 p.m. – Lakeview Arena

Flint Powers Catholic vs. GR Forest Hills Central – Wednesday, 7 p.m. – Summit Lansing

Okemos vs. Riverview – Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. – Yost

Cranbrook Kingswood vs. Wyandotte Roosevelt – Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. – Farmington Ice Arena

 

Teams that advance officially punch their ticket to Compuware Arena in Plymouth – the state semifinals take place on March 12-13 at the home of the Plymouth Whalers.
