The Plymouth Whalers announced a trade today that will bring home a Michigan native.

The OHL club acquired Troy native Ryan Moore today in a three-team trade just before the trade deadline at noon.

The Whalers acquired Moore, 17, along with a fourth-round pick in 2015, a sixth-round pick in 2016, a fourth-round pick in 2017, a third-round pick in 2019 and a second-round pick in 2020, in the deal. The club will say goodbye to standout Matt Mistele, as part of the deadline deal.

Moore, who was originally sent to Oshawa before being quickly moved to Plymouth, was the Windsor Spitfires’ second-round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection. In a season and a half of OHL action with the Spits, Moore had recorded 10 goals and 18 assists, along with 75 penalty minutes, in 96 games.

Moore is a product of the Belle Tire youth hockey program, and he won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Tournament.
