After Andrew Copp took the first-ever Big Ten First Star of the Week, the Wolverines are following it up in Week 2.

Freshman forward Tyler Motte, a St. Clair native, scored goals in both of Michigan’s games at New Hampshire last weekend, helping the Wolverines to a win and a tie against the No. 13 team in the country.

Motte, a Blackhawks draft pick and product of the National Team Development Program, scored Michigan’s lone goal in a 1-1 tie on Friday, then scored the game-winner in overtime on Saturday to lead the Wolverines to a 3-2 victory.

He now has goals in three straight games, and he’s one of only four freshmen in the country to have three or more goals this season.
