Red Wings reduce roster to 27 players
The Red Wings announced today that they have trimmed 13 players from their roster as they continue to prepare for the NHL regular season.
Detroit assigned the following players to Grand Rapids:
- Adam Almquist
- Mitch Callahan
- Jared Coreau
- Luke Glendening
- Calle Jarnkrok
- Tomas Jurco
- Xavier Ouellet
- Teemu Pulkkinen
- Riley Sheahan
- Ryan Sproul
The club released the following players from their professional tryouts, and both will be with the Griffins:
- Jeff Hoggan
- Nathan Paetsch
And finally, the Red Wings placed the following players on the injured reserve list:
- Willie Coetzee
- Landon Ferraro
- Nick Jensen
The players on injured reserve do not count against the Wings’ active roster.
