Red Wings recall eight from Grand Rapids
Following their preseason contest with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Red Wings announced that they have recalled eight players from Grand Rapids.
The club recalled Mitch Callahan, Calle Jarnkrok, Teemu Pulkkinen, Riley Sheahan, Ryan Sproul and goaltender Jared Coreau from their AHL affiliate. The Red Wings also signed forward Jeff Hoggan and defenseman Nathan Paetsch to professional tryouts.
With the transactions, the Red Wings are back to 40 players on the NHL roster, with one preseason game remaining. The Wings conclude their NHL preseason slate of games tomorrow in Toronto.
