Pavel Datsyuk messed up our routine today. But no, we’re not complaining.

Contrary to some previous rumors floating around, Pavel Datsyuk wants to stay in Hockeytown. The Red Wings’ No. 13 agreed to a three-year extension with the Red Wings today, keeping him in the Winged Wheel uniform through 2017. Click the photo below for more.

The Griffins have another chance to secure the Calder Cup tonight when the puck drops for Game 6 of the AHL Final in Syracuse. The Wings’ AHL affiliate dropped Games 4 and 5 to the Crunch on home ice, and now they will be on the road for the duration of the series. Speaking of the Bruins…they won last night. The two clubs go back at it again tomorrow night in Boston – the Bruins could take a huge 3-1 series lead, or the Blackhawks could even things up once again.

Marian Hossa is day-to-day after being a scratch in last night’s Game 3. Hossa took warm-ups, then didn’t appear for the contest.

Alain Vigneault is officially the new coach of the New York Rangers.

Mark Streit has signed with the Flyers, taking one of the Wings’ FA defenseman possibilities off the table.

The Ottawa Senators’ building has been renamed the Canadian Tire Centre.
