What a weekend for Grand Rapids.

The Griffins recorded back-to-back road wins on Saturday and Sunday to take control of their AHL Finals series with the Syracuse Crunch. On Saturday, Grand Rapids recorded a 3-1 win, while on Sunday, they were on the good side of a 6-4 shootout.

We picked Danny DeKeyser to be our Michi-gamer for Monday, after he made his AHL debut with the Griffins and didn’t show much rust after missing a month of hockey due to a hand injury.

The Saginaw Spirit officially announced the OHL doubleheader that will take place at Comerica Park next December, which will also feature the Plymouth Whalers, the Windsor Spitfires, and the London Knights. Click here to read more about that.

Congrats to the Team USA National Inline Team for winning gold in the World Championships this weekend. Michigan native Jerry Kuhn made 28 saves in the final game against Sweden to lead the U.S. to a 6-3 win.

It’s an Original Six Stanley Cup Finals. Patrick Kane scored a hat trick in the Blackhawks’ Game 5 win over the Kings Saturday to secure a date with the Bruins in the final round. Here’s the Cup Finals schedule:
