Shaved Ice – Jan. 29

Red Wings pre-game edition of Shaved Ice.

The Wings take on the Dallas Stars in a Groundhog Day match-up; they took them on at The Joe last Tuesday, as well. Per the Freep, Jakub Kindl is in the line-up, in hopes that he can energize the Red Wings’ struggling power-play units.

The Wings are offering discounted rates for their Feb. 13 and Mar. 5 home games for youth hockey players as part of their Hockey Day in Michigan celebration.

Chris Chelios was featured on today – check out what he had to say about his ‘coaching internship’. Would you want to be a player on a team coached by Cheli? I bet that would be a little intimidating.

We posted our latest feature on the Grand Rapids Griffins today – the latest spotlight is on Marysville native Chad Billins. He’s been turning heads ever since he was a star at Ferris State, and he’s kept it going at the AHL level.

The latest high school hockey rankings are posted, as well – check them out right here. Brother Rice, Trenton and Cranbrook currently hold the top spots in their respective divisions.

Check out the Griffins’ video from their annual Great Skate/Winterfest.

The P.K. Subban drama is over, as the Canadiens star defenseman has signed a two-year deal with the club. According to TSN, however, the other guys in the locker room weren’t exactly jumping up and down out of joy after hearing the news.

ESPN has a spotlight on Mike Knuble for their ‘game of the week’ preview of the Flyers vs. Rangers match-up.

The Stars have placed Derek Roy on injured reserve due to a groin injury – significant news for Red Wings fans, considering who the Stars are playing tonight.

Puck Daddy is currently trying to figure out how Michigan alum Mike Komisarek actually got fiberglass in his eye. Injury as a result of breaking your stick out of frustration? He does play for the Leafs, after all.

Yeah, we’re sharing this one again. Too funny. Too good of a message.

Going to go drive in the rain to get to The Joe now. Rain? really?
