Shaved Ice – December 11

Happy Tuesday, everyone. Hope you can work a little hockey into your day.

Earlier today we posted the high school hockey rankings for the first time in the 2012-13 season. Click right here to see if the high school team you care about cracked the Top 10 in D1-3.

Today’s Michi-gamer nod goes to Oxford native Jason DeSantis, who had a big weekend.

Harrison Township native Bobby Shea, who plays for Bowling Green, along with Western Michigan’s Dane Walters and Lake Superior’s Kevin Murdock, picked up weekly awards from the CCHA yesterday.

The Wings announced yesterday – along with the rest of the league – that all games through Dec. 30 have been canceled.

Check out this Griffvision interview with Michigan native and Grand Rapids Griffins defenseman Chad Billins.

A guy dressed up as Santa Claus (clearly he wasn’t the real one) was fired for ripping on a kid who wore a Maple Leafs jersey during his annual visit. Can Santa put himself on the naughty list, or does somebody else have to? Better yet, I think it’s just a cry for help that he needs his NHL hockey back. You don’t get fired for chirping somebody at a game, after all.

Great commentary from John Saunders about the dedication of West Point’s hockey rink in honor of a fallen soldier. Puts things in perspective.

Back to the CBA negotiations, the two sides go. Guess it’s at a hidden location – wonder if Bettman or Fehr will get lost on the ride over.

No words needed.

See everybody tomorrow.
