Shaved Ice – November 15

Off to Yost soon…big weekend for the Wolverines and the rest of college hockey (and all hockey, really).

The Wolverines welcome the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to Ann Arbor for a Thursday/Friday series. Get ready with our preview right here. By the way, Friday’s game will feature a rededication ceremony for the revamped Yost Ice Arena.

Yesterday was national signing day for college-bound players. The Muskegon Lumberjacks had 11 players on their roster sign with NCAA schools.

Michigan State added two to their class that already includes Mackenzie MacEachern – Joe Cox (Chelsea, Mich.), and JT Stenglein (Greece, NY).

The Lumberjacks also added former Red Wings goaltender Manny Legace to their coaching staff. Great get by the USHL team in Muskegon.

Here’s a cool feature on Ryan Kesler talking about his college days. Livonia native starred for the Ohio State Buckeyes (we’re trying to not hold that against him).

Seems like things are getting gloomier and gloomier for the NHL returning this season. Can’t believe how this has turned out. Well, actually I can, but that’s beside the point. This is ridiculous, and they need to get this stuff figured out.

TSN reports that the two sides aren’t even talking on the phone. Yeah, this does sound like the media is covering a celebrity break-up. Yet it’s news, nonetheless.

Former Bruin Stan Jonathan is being charged with criminal negligence causing death after a hunting accident.

SI’s Allan Muir gets you ready for the WHL vs. Russia part of the Subway Super Series.

Decent video of P.K. Subban trying his hand at a different profession during the lockout.

See you all…shortly. Wolverines coverage tonight.
