Friday is here. Even better, the start of the CCHA regular season is here.

Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night In Canada just tweeted that the NHL is informing clubs that all games up until Nov. 30 have been cancelled. No word, however, on that big game at the Big House everybody around here is hoping will still happen. Things need to get figured out quickly, because a Winter Classic of that size and importance isn’t an easy thing to plan for.

Ryan Miller weighed in on the lockout situation with an email to ESPN The Magazine.

Grand Ledge native Reid Boucher is our Michi-gamer of the night, after picking up two helpers for the Sarnia Sting in their win over Windsor.

The CCHA regular season kicks off tonight. We’ll be at Yost, and watching the rest of the action via Twitter and scoreboard streams. The CCHA games for this weekend are as follows:

  • Michigan State at Lake Superior
  • Notre Dame at Northern Michigan

The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced yesterday that they have signed Compuware midget minor defenseman Chaz Switzer to a USHL tender.

 

Since the CCHA is starting back up tonight, let’s take a look at the last league game played. Spoiler alert – Western Michigan wins.

TSN reports that an official announcement of cancelled games is expected to be delivered today.
