Shaved Ice – October 10

I don’t know what this lockout talk is; I’m covering hockey games six out of seven days this week.

The University of Michigan kicked their season off yesterday with a 7-3 win over Windsor. The win came with a price, however; defenseman Jon Merrill and forward Justin Selman were both injured in the game.

Jacob Trouba had a big night in his collegiate debut, making him today’s Michi-gamer.

Michigan State announced yesterday that Canton native Greg Wolfe will be their captain for the 2012-13 season.

And in case you missed it yesterday, the Whalers had their hair dyed pink. Read about how rookie defenseman Connor Carrick felt about it.

Michigan native and Lightning prospect Daniel Milan sat down with our friends at Pure As Pond Ice to talk some puck.

R.J. Umberger’s handling the lockout a bit differently than most of his peers; the Blue Jackets forward is driving down the street to his alma mater, Ohio State, to serve as a volunteer assistant coach.

More meetings for the NHL and NHLPA. I swear I’m not just copying and pasting whatever I put the day before in here.

Dan Boyle says that not all of the owners are even on the same page. That’s not good for fans hoping to see hockey this season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets don’t have much to do right now, but at least they put their efforts into an impressive YouTube video. Check out Gangam Style, Columbus Style. Definitely one of the better parodies out there of the popular song.

Going to enjoy watching the Tigers tonight. See you tomorrow.
