Lumberjacks’ Lindskoug named USHL goalie of the week

It didn’t take long for one of the Muskegon Lumberjacks to nab some league honors.

The Lumberjacks announced today that goaltender Kevin Lindskoug was named the United States Hockey League’s goaltender of the week.

Lindskoug, a native of Trelleborg, Sweden, made his USHL debut last weekend, and in the process recorded his first two wins. On Friday night in Chicago, Lindskoug led the ‘Jacks to a 3-1 win, and followed it up with a 4-1 home victory over Indiana the next night.

In the weekend, Lindskoug stopped 63 of the 65 shots he saw, which was good for a .969 save percentage. He also had an even 1.00 goals-against average.

“I feel good about winning this award; it was a very good week for me,” said Lindskoug.  “This award cannot be spoken for alone thanks to the good defenders playing well in front of me.  Everyone on the team earns a piece of this award as well.”

Prior to joining the Lumberjacks, Lindskoug played three seasons with Rogle BK in the Swedish SuperElit league – the top junior league in Sweden.
