CCHA Players of the Week – Oct. 15

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced their players of the week today. Western Michigan’s Garrett Haar was named ‘Gladiator Defenseman of the Week’, while Northern Michigan’s Cohen Adair was named the league’s ‘Gongshow Rookie of the Week’.

Postgame Offensive Player of the Week

Blake Coleman, MIA
So., F (Plano, TX)
Coleman had two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-0 win over Colgate on Friday and added a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over the Red Raiders on Saturday.
Gladiator Defenseman of the Week
Garrett Haar, WMU                               
So. (Huntington Beach, CA)
After scoring just one goal all of last season, Haar scored a goal in a 4-3 OT loss to St. Lawrence on Friday and notched the game-winning goal against the Saints in a 3-2 win on Saturday. He finished +2 on the weekend.
Goaltender of the Week
Steven Summerhays, ND
Jr. (Anchorage, AK)
Summerhays stopped 22 shots in a 1-0 shutout of Maine on Friday at the Ice Breaker Tournament and made 28 saves in a 3-2 win over Nebraska-Omaha in the final on Saturday. He finished the weekend with a .962 save percentage.
 
Gongshow Rookie of the Week
Cohen Adair, NMU
F (Stratford, ON)
Adair’s first collegiate goal was the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin on Friday. He scored another goal in a 4-2 win over the Badgers on Saturday.
