Former Red Wings coach and hockey legend Scotty Bowman will team up with Barry Smith to coach the Red Wings’ alumni teams at this year’s Hockeytown Winter Festival. Bowman and Smith will attempt to defeat Maple Leafs teams led by Red Kelly and Pat Quinn.

The NAHL is welcoming the six teams from the High Performance Hockey League to their 10th Annual Combat Hockey/NAHL Showcase Tournament this year. The tournament is held in Minnesota and has some of the fiercest competition around.
University of Michigan’s head hockey coach Red Berenson will see his salary jump next year after receiving a $10,000 increase, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Former seventh-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Jakub Voracek, signed a four-year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Dallas Stars have agreed to terms with defenseman Jordie Benn. Jordie is the older brother of Jamie Benn who is currently playing for the Stars as well.
Advancements have been made between the NHL and the NHLPA after the league introduced new proposals for a new collective bargaining agreement. The current CBA expires Sept. 15.
