The Red Wings announced via their official Twitter account today that they have re-signed defenseman Kyle Quincey for two seasons.

Quincey, 26, was reacquired by the Red Wings from the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 21 during a three-team trade that saw Detroit unload their 2012 first-round pick. The Lightning received the Wings’ draft pick, while the Avalanche received forward Steve Downie.

With the Red Wings the remainder of the season, Quincey had two goals and one assist in 18 regular-season games. During Detroit’s shortlived playoff campaign, Quincey had two assists in five games, along with a minus-two rating.

In 257 total games, Quincey has 18 goals and 77 assists, for 95 points. He is also minus-five in his career.
