Team USA pummeled Team Finland on Sunday in somewhat surprising fashion. With that win, USA improves to 5-1 with two overtime wins (Canada, Kazhakstan), good for second place in Group H behind only those rivals from the north.

Max Pacioretty notched a goal and assist for the United States in the convincing victory over Finland. Post-game comments from the former U-of-M standout can be found here.

Jim Slater, a Lapeer native and former Michigan State Spartan, brought his parents out to Europe for the World Championship. Read more about it right here.

Troy native and University of Michigan commit Alex Kile tallied the game-winning goal on Sunday in Game 2 of the USHL Clark Cup for his Green Bay Gamblers to tie the series at one with the Waterloo Black Hawks.

Just two days after losing to the New York Rangers in Game 7, Washington Capitals head coach Dale Hunter has announced he is stepping down. Hunter said he wanted to spend more time with his family, as well as help run the family business (the OHL’s London Knights) as they march on to the Memorial Cup.
